The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the use of contraband detectors in school facilities and on school property to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The use of such devices shall be conducted lawfully, fairly, and consistently, with due consideration for the rights and privacy of individuals.
This policy applies to all schools, administrative buildings, and events sponsored by Southeast Local Schools. It governs the use of handheld, walk-through, or other electronic contraband detection devices utilized by school officials or law enforcement personnel in accordance with district procedures.
