Good Afternoon Pirate Families!

This is Jamie Brawley, Principal at the Intermediate School.

I’d like to share some information for students attending the Pirate Virtual Academy and the modified face-to-face schedule.

Information for the Pirate Virtual Academy can be found by going to sepirates.org and clicking on the Intermediate school. Here you will find a link to the Pirate Virtual Academy overview, the recommended supply list, and your teacher contact information. Once on the Intermediate page, you can also look to the tabs on the left and click on One Stop. Here you will find information that the Intermediate staff has posted.

For our face-to-face students, group A begins school on Wednesday, Sep 9th, while group B students begin school on Thursday, September 10th. Group A and Group B students have been determined by your oldest child’s last name, so that your children with different last names will attend school on the same days. Any questions about busing can be directed to our transportation supervisor, Peggi Leitzel at 330-654-5841 ext 1151. You can also email at [email protected]

Since we did not have a traditional Open House, students may bring in a few supplies at a time. We would not expect students to carry all supplies on their first day.

Classroom lists have been posted on the Intermediate grade level outside doors. Families may also “meet” their teachers by viewing the Virtual Open Houses posted by the staff. These may be found on sepirates.org Intermediate page or the One Stop tab.

Since students are not permitted to bring medications on the bus,Nurse Debbie Wyszynski asks that you drop off any medications needed during the school day on Tuesday, Sep 9th between 9:00a.m. and 3:00p.m.

Students and staff are required to wear masks at school, on the bus, and at the bus stop. Please send water with your child, as our drinking fountains have been turned off.

For our car riders, we have two drop off and pick up areas. Intermediate students will be dropped off and picked up at Door #11 which has been the usual drop off/pick up door. Primary students will use Door #13, which can be reached by also using Pirate Way Drive. Drop off times are 8:35-8:50, while pick up times are 3:25-3:35.

The Intermediate office entrance will not be available from 8:35- 9:00, since students will be entering the building.

This all call will also be posted on the Intermediate website, along with contact information for questions.

We know this school year will look very different, but the staff at Southeast are very excited for the return of students.

Wishing you and your family a safe and wonderful holiday weekend, and GO Pirates!!

Hello Pirate Families!

We are so sad that we could not have our traditional Open House this year. We love to begin the year by meeting our families. In order for you to “meet” our teachers, our teachers have created virtual Open Houses for families to view.

Also, class lists will be posted on the outside grade level doors by the end of the day Friday, September 4th. Can’t wait to see all of you next week!

Ms. Brawley

Hello Families of PVA!

Please watch this helpful video about the Pirate Virtual Academy. Just click on the link below.

She will be in contact with you soon with more information about PVA. Also listed below is the recommended supply list. These items can be purchased at a discount store.

Principal Jamie Brawley Image Hello Southeast Community!

My name is Jamie Brawley and I am so very excited to be principal at Southeast Intermediate School. I have lived in Palmyra most of my life and my daughter is a proud graduate of Southeast. I began my career with Southeast Schools as a substitute teacher, then third grade teacher, then fifth grade teacher, and finally 15 years later, principal. I love this school and community, but most of all, I love our students. I cannot think of a better place to spend everyday!

My number one goal is the growth of your child. Growth includes more than academics; using a team approach enables children to reach their potential. Along with excellent teachers, we have an outstanding counselor, attentive nurses, caring staff, and an awesome PTO. Everyone working together with the parents or guardians helps ensure success for all students. I have an open door policy- welcoming emails, phone calls, and visits to address any questions or concerns.

I look forward to working with all parents and guardians to ensure the success of your child!
