Our Middle School consists of grades 6-8 and the students enjoy a beautiful new building with a unique set up of individual areas (pods) for each grade level. Students have several accelerated placement classes available to them. Algebra is one of those classes where they can also earn a high school credit. The students’ academic progress is monitored by an assessment tool called Performance Matters. We believe in ensuring a diversified student experience so every student takes music, art, and physical education. We have also recently added a gifted class and a modern language class. The students who demonstrate strong academics, character, and community service can be selected to the middle school National Honor Society. There are varied opportunities for our students to get involved after school and we are proud that over 60% of our students stay after school for a club or
activity. Programs available are Power of the Pen, student government, Math 24, fitness club, science club, and art club. Last year we had the Power of the Pen District champion who was recognized for her writing skills. We have a long tradition of success in middle school athletics as well with league
champions in volleyball, football, girls basketball, and cross country just last year. The eighth graders culminate their time in the middle school experience with a spring trip to Washington D.C..
