News from Southeast High School
From the Desk of Mr. Dunn

Wow!  Time flies when you are having fun!  It seems like yesterday we were opening up the school for the start of a new year and now we already have 2 months in the books. The first part of the school year has gone very smoothly thanks to our outstanding Junior and Senior classes who have modeled the proper behavior and expectations (The Pirate Way!) for our underclassmen.
I think school spirit and student involvement are good indicators of the overall health of a school.  That being said , we had over 150 students involved in a fall sport and an additional 100 students in band and over 100 more participating in the school play or another one of our after school academic clubs. Our spirit week had great student participation and we also had over 300 students attend homecoming.  Studies show that students who are involved in extra-curriculars at the school have overall better attendance, grades, and less discipline referrals.  If your son or daughter is not involved please encourage them to join a winter or spring sport, club, or activity. Finally, I'm proud to announce that SHS meet every state indicator and is rated GRADE "A" on the state report card.  Have a great November and Go Pirates!
